Río Caliente Trail: El Repilado to Los Romeros (Sierra de Aracena)

  • Sevilla
  • 10 hours
  • Italian, Dutch, German, English or Spanish

A 12 km riverside trail through the Sierra de Aracena Natural Park, between the villages of El Repilado and Los Romeros, in Jabugo (Huelva). We follow the Río Caliente, a tributary of the Múrtigas, through riparian (gallery) forest, with the water alongside us almost the whole way.

It's a route for all ages, at low-to-moderate difficulty. We cross the river several times, by bridges, tunnels or fishermen's crossings, all of them easy to tackle.

We walk among small waterfalls, weirs and natural pools. Pop a swimsuit in your bag in case you fancy a dip.

It's a relaxed stroll, with the birdsong of the forest and the river: herons, osprey, coots. If we walk quietly, we may spot a wild boar, an Egyptian mongoose or a fox; the otter is more elusive.

Getting there: we travel in private cars. When booking, let us know whether you need transport or are bringing your own car.
